Aeschylus:

Aeschylus's most popular play was the Prometheus Bound.

Aeschylus was born around 525 BCE in Eleusis. He died in 458 BCE (historians say that he was killed by a eagle trying to smash a tortoise on his head, as it mistook him for a rock).

Prometheus Bound 's cast of characters is few: and, of course, the chorus. It tells of the plight of the Greek god Prometheus, son of the god Themis. The focus of the play is the battle between the supreme power of Zeus and the stubborn resolve of Prometheus.

Justice and power dynamics. Prometheus Bound serves as a reflection on justice and power dynamics by depicting the struggle between an individual's moral convictions and the authoritarian rule of Zeus.
